Stuart Weitzman is a designer whom some seem to forget since everyone (not me) wants to own or covet a pair of Louboutin's.  Folks, there are more shoe designers of luxury brands in the world who are even more affordable than Christian Louboutin and Stuart Weitzman is one of them. Any way Solange rocked!

"FRO'S" WE LOVE: Poetess Yashi Brown

Janet Jackson and her niece, poetess Yashi Brown.
Yashi Brown is a poetess, author, public speaker, mental health advocate and singer-songwriter also born into the legendary Jackson family. Her book Black Daisy in a White Limousine: 77 Poems, a collection of poems eloquently chronicling life’s triumphs, challenges and issues affecting humanity.







Yashi has become very passionate about mental health advocacy and continues to be an active force in bringing awareness and providing recovery resources to individuals and families facing these challenges. She’s been very vocal in the media about stigma and provided recent press on mental health for CNN, ABC, NBC, Extra, and Ebony/Jet publications. She is on the board as Treasurer for Project Return Peer Support Network (PRPSN) the largest and oldest peer support group in Los Angeles County since 1979 and is a national advocate for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) the most formidable grassroots organization and preeminent voice on capitol health for mental health.

While checking out the latest styles on Net-A-Porter.com I came across one of the best dressed women in the world, blogger extraordinaire Tamu McPherson of All the Pretty Birds and Grazia.it. Tamu's style is impeccable with just a touch of whimsy thrown in for good measure and I always love to see what she's wearing next. There's nothing more beautiful than seeing a woman living well.

Two of my favorite looks from CHANEL'S THE LITTLE BLACK JACKET exhibition. I'm loving Akuol De Mabior's look with her beautiful head wrap and Ayo's photo. Their photos are some of the ones being featured in Karl Lagerfeld's new book "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited" which comes out this fall and will feature over 100 people wearing the iconic jacket.

Ready To Take Center Stage: Actress Condola Rashad

When I turned to page 511 and saw her photo in the March issue of InStyle magazine as a Wonder Girl, I secretly wished that they did a whole editorial on her.

When your mom is the iconic Phylicia Rashad, your dad is Ahmad Rashad and your aunt is also an icon named Debbie Allen, what is one to expect from a talented newcomer? A whole lot.

Condola is poised to become a standout based on her own merit and not just by her name alone, but from her sheer talent. Condola wowed the Broadway theatre crowd with her standout performances  in Ruined, Stick Fly and is now set to star in the Life Time television remake of Steel Magnolias. Condola sings just as much she acts, which makes her a double threat. So keep your eyes on this beautiful woman because it's her time to shine.

Here's another one that I spotted while at the bookstore yesterday in a one page editorial for the March issue of ELLE UK, the lovely and talented Liane La Havas.

Saturdays were made for family, shopping and catching up on all of the international fashion magazines that I could find. While my daughters were out in the malls, I was hitting up all of the bookstores to see what they had to offer. I read them all yesterday. From VOGUE Australia to JALOUSE and when I spotted up and coming singer Elle Varner in the April issue of NYLON Magazine in this gorgeous photo photographed by Francisco Garcia I had to share. I made notes about all of the key photos that I saw so that I could reference them later for a blog post.

The magazine that I walked out of the bookstore with was ARISE Magazines Issue 14 and to me it's worth every dollar.

She may not be on the lips of everyone, but give it time she will be. Isn't that how it always is? They wait to write about these unknown and beautiful celebrities until they become more popular or until the mainstream media features them and that's only when they start to promote them. That's why I make it my life's  work to celebrate the women that no one else talks about.

Legendary Fashion Designer B Micheal Designed Whitney Houston's Wardrobe for SPARKLE

We will miss seeing and hearing our beautiful Whitney Houston again but her imagery and music will live on forever. Designer B. Micheal is a designer known for his elegant creations and he was blessed to design Whitney's wardrobe for her upcoming movie Sparkle.

Producer and Whitney's best friend and business partner, Debra Martin Chase is responsible for introducing the two and bringing B. Micheal on board to design Whitney's 1960's inspired wardrobe. HER NAME IS SOLANGE! SOLANGE WOW'S IN ES MAGAZINE

It keep's getting better and just this morning I bemoaned the fact about how much I missed living in Germany and I log onto tumblr and see this gorgeous photo on EFF Yeah Solange's page I had to see more. Some of the international magazines have the best fashion editorials and even magazine covers for that matter because they don't feature celebrities ad nauseam like the American, British and Canadian do. Anyway, Solange Knowles is once again building up her portfolio with one fabulous editorial after another and this time she sizzles in the London Evening Standard's-ES Magazine in a gorgeous editorial.
