"FRO'S" WE LOVE: Poetess Yashi Brown

Yashi Brown is a poetess, author, public speaker, mental health advocate and singer-songwriter also born into the legendary Jackson family. Her book Black Daisy in a White Limousine: 77 Poems, a collection of poems eloquently chronicling life’s triumphs, challenges and issues affecting humanity.







Yashi has become very passionate about mental health advocacy and continues to be an active force in bringing awareness and providing recovery resources to individuals and families facing these challenges. She’s been very vocal in the media about stigma and provided recent press on mental health for CNN, ABC, NBC, Extra, and Ebony/Jet publications. She is on the board as Treasurer for Project Return Peer Support Network (PRPSN) the largest and oldest peer support group in Los Angeles County since 1979 and is a national advocate for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) the most formidable grassroots organization and preeminent voice on capitol health for mental health.
