Music News: Disc-cover Georgia Anne Muldrow's "Owed To Mama Rickie"

One of the best artist out now is Georgia Anne Muldrow and I don't feel that Georgia Anne Muldrow has received the recognition that she deserves as a lyricist, singer and rapper and it's too bad that much of the world is missing out on some of the most positive and conscious music ever created in a very long time considering what's out there now disguised as music. I want to see Georgia Anne rule the music charts and hopefully more people will listen to her and buy her music. The woman is phenomenal.

Georgia Anne latest music offering is now available for pre-order and you can also listen to it here

The New and Improved Fashion Fair Cosmetics Brand

One of Fashion Fair Cosmetics latest advertisements.

Fashion Fair Cosmetics has named Sam Fine as their newest Creative Makeup Director and I'm sure he's got great ideas in store for the brand. Like I said before in a post about Fashion Fair Cosmetics, I still buy the brand because it works for me and I buy them all from Chanel on down because each brand has something that I like. For Fashion Fair it's their cream to powder and lip sticks. Most younger women prefer brands like MAC and so on, but since my skin is richly hued I find the best products in IMAN Cosmetics, Cover Girl Queen Collection and thre Black Radiance Collection. I've got to give it to Linda Johnson Rice for having her best friend on board the JPC,  because Desiree Rogers is a marketing genius.

Nick Ashford 1942-2011

Ashford and Simpson was another example of Black Love.

They are known as one of the best songwriting duos in history and a beautiful couple to many of their fans. She was known for her beautiful braids and he was known for that flowing mane of hair and that beautiful coco hue. All of my friends, sister's and I used to refer to him as the "Black Jesus" because of the way he looked. I played their songs during many a heartbreak and pain and even in happiness. I'm saddened just like many of you who heard the news of his death. If you're over the age of 30 and listen to real music, then you know of and have heard of Ashford and Simpson. No one writes love songs like them anymore.

May Nick rest in eternal peace and may GOD be with Valerie and their family in this time of sorrow.
They truly were "Solid As A Rock."

Defining Fabulous: Super Model Jany Tomba

IloveJANY from Fernando Teixeira on Vimeo.
Jany Tomba was and still is an inspiration to me.

edmaximus:

Supermodel Jany Tomba, Magazines from 1969 to 1991
I still have almost all of my Essence magazines which featured her on the covers.

As a teenager I grew up reading the magazines which featured Jany Tomba and another model named Marcia Turnier who were both Haitian born models. From Madamemoiselle, Glamour, Ebony and especially Essence magazine, you saw their beautiful images and what a boost did these ladies add to my already existing confidence. This documentary is a refreshing relief from all of the other documentaries out there who only hold on to the pain by relieving the past.

I've got thousands of pictures for possible blog posts in my hard drive and yes I've also have been saving several of them to write about to include one about Jany Tomba. I saw this lovely feature on VOGUE Italia today about a documentary that her niece, Sasha Huber has created to honor her and I think a lot of people should see this inspirational video titled, I Love Jany

I don't know what happened through the years to black women, but somehow along the way many women lost their self-esteems by leaving the definition up to other people and all I can say thank goodness that so many women are now reclaiming something that is rightfully theirs.
Thank you Jany for being an inspiration.

To me any model who graces the pages of any magazine is a "Super Model" in my eyes.

T Magazines Fall Issue Is Super Fabulous!

I think this is The NYT's /T-Magazine best issue ever because it's featuring some of my favorite women: Solange Knowles, Les Nubians, and Corinne Bailey Rae in a stunning, yet simple fashion editorial. They even highlight the fashionable lifestyle of the super stylish Erica Reid in this issue. Woo hoo! Having my subscription is so worth the money.

Anyway, Esperanza Spalding is gracing the latest issue of T-Magazine in one gorgeous cover and photo editorial.

Tracee Ellis Ross Covers ESSENCE MAGAZINES September Issue!

I’ve haven’t received my copy yet, but this is a relief from the previous covers. Thank you Constance White for letting her get her shine on! Tracee Ellis Ross deserves this cover.
All I can say is that it's about time. Tracee Ellis Ross is a style icon who is revered by many younger women just like her Mom, Diana Ross is by the older generation. Thank you Constance White!
