Le Look Du Jour: Actress Lupita Nyong'o For Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2014 Campaign

As I said yesterday: "actress Lupita Nyong'o is on a roll." All I can is to enjoy this attention why you can because folks are fickle, you're hot one moment and then it's on to the next popular or hot thing and then they'll ignore you.

The lovely Lupita has been tapped for the Italian luxury brand, Miu Miu's 2014 Spring/Summer ad-campaign with her peers: Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and Bela Heathcote. The ad campaign was shot by the uber talented photo team, Inez & Vinoodh.

I've seen a lot of collections that are eerily similar to several previous collections that I've seen in the VOGUE and L'Officiel archives and I've been dying to do a blog post about them because there seems to be a lot of copying going on. On a better note: The designers who presented 60's inspired silhouettes had better collections out all of those who didn't anyway.

What's Haute Now: The Holiday Ad Campaigns

After a little retail therapy this weekend, I snapped these two new ad campaign photos featuring Chanel Iman for Forever 21 and Julia Sarr-Jamois in a major ad campaign for cosmetic giant Sephora.

What's Haute Now: Janelle Monáe Is Now A Covergirl

While checking out the September issue of VOGUE Magazine I spotted (and nearly dropped that huge and heavy sucker on my foot) the gorgeous Janelle Monáe in advertisements for Cover Girl Cosmetics. All I can say is that I'm so proud of her.

Solange Knowles For the September Issue of Elle Magazine and Madewell's F/W 2012 Campaign

The September issues are coming out and as usual, they're heavier than ever with several new ad campaigns, fall advertisements and editorials. I have yet to see Vogue's, but Elle Magazine didn't disappoint with stunning editorial's featuring Jeneil Williams and several other models and a cool editorial featuring Solange at her Brooklyn home. 

After posting these photos, I guarantee that the actual ones shot for the magazine will be posted right after these.


Solange's home certainly is a total reflection of her.
 

I must say Solange is literally on a roll, especially since she is the new face of Madewell's FW 2012-13 Ad Campign which has every one buzzing.

Ad Campaigns:Melodie Monrose For Joe Fresh

Check out Melodie Monrose for one of Canada's hottest stores to hit our shores: Joe Fresh. If you love bargains just as much as I do then Joe Fresh is certainly the store to find them in. The Canadian brand recently opened a 14,000-square-foot flagship store on Fifth Avenue and when we hit NYC this summer, my girls and I will definitely be there. Right now I'm loving their denim trench coat along with their denim tunic and wide leg jeans, which is so my style.

FATIMA SIAD FOR MARSHALL'S SS 2012 CAMPAIGN

While out and about this weekend my family and I hit the malls and the shopping centers in search for bargains to wear for the upcoming warmer weather. While at the check out counter at Marshall's my daughter told me to look up at the huge poster of Fatima Siad staring down at us. Yes, it was Fatima in an ad campaign for Marshall's and my cashier even knew who she was.

Last year it was Atong Arjok  who was featured in their Spring and Summer campaign now this year it's Fatima along with three other models wearing the latest in summer trends. I'm proud of Fatima because she proves once again that you don't have to finish first in order to shine and shine she has by walking in several designer fashion shows and snagging some of the top advertising campaigns. I started to pull out my phone to snap a photo, but instead I told my daughters that I'll go straight to Marshall's for the photos and of course they had them.

While shopping at some of my favorites stores, I also noticed Ataui Deng for Macy's, Jasmine Tookes for Sephora, Grace Bol for NARS, Fatima for Target, Ajak Deng for Macy's and also Tomiko Fraser Hines for TARGET.
