From The Concrete Catwalks!!
I live for this! In a Pop Culture-centered world I crave diversity when it comes to our style and believe me when I say that we often see only two or three women of African ancestry featured in street style blogs all over the world. I'm sure I'm not the only one who asks, aren't there more of us who are stylish?
My prayers have been answered by the beauty captured by the super talented Kwesi Abbensetts for Ebony magazine. Be sure to check out the man whose works not only preserves our image, but celebrates it as well here and follow him on Tumblr and EBONY'S website as well for more style inspiration.

Esperanza Spalding Made Satchmo Proud!
"On the Red Carpet"
"Missing You Whitney"
I made it home just in time to catch the last part of the Oscars. Viola didn't win, but she's still a winner in my book, and Octavia Spencer brought home the best-supporting Oscar. Esperanza Spalding did a perfect rendition of Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World." Looking angelic in a one-shouldered white gown with her massive Afro serving as a halo, she dedicated a very memorable song to all of those who have worked in front of and behind the scenes in the entertainment industry who have passed on. I think tonight she even won over more fans to her ever growing fan base who appreciate real music.
Style File: Designer Stella Jean
As I've stated in a previous post that every season I find a new fashion favorite in the latest street style photos and this time I've found several stylish and inspiring women. The latest one to catch my eye is a Rome based designer of Haitian and Italian background named Stella Jean. Stella was the featured in VOGUE Italia's "Who's Is On Next?" as one designer to watch.
All I can say is that her collection left me speechless! Sure, some of you may say that it's nothing new since she uses African wax-prints, but I beg to differ. Her designs are gorgeous and I'd love to get my hands on a few of her pieces!

The Streets Are Talking!!!
Every fashion week our eyes are focused on the web or if you're one of those who've scored an invite to the fashion shows you get to see style first hand. Street style is what really fascinates me and it's not for me to swoon over what the celebrities are wearing because some of them just don't excite me in their choice of style unless they're an individualist like Solange Knowles or a celebrity who is O40&Fab. I've found some new favorites this past fashion week and will write a post about them later.

Rock Worthy: Tata-Naka
While scrolling through ELLE UK'S website for a little inspiration I came across the designs of Tata-Naka which literally took my breath away. I don't know if it was the gorgeous Afro's or the gorgeous colors of the fabric used to create this stunning collection, all I know is that I was in awe of what I saw!
Tata-Naka is owned by the Georgian-born British twin sisters – Tamara and Natasha Surguladze, in memory of their collective childhood nickname. The sisters moved to London in 1996 and are graduates of Central St. Martin.
Check out the rest of the collection here and their website here for more inspiration.

Fros We Love: The Super Talented Esperanza Spalding for VOGUE March 2012
"It Girl"
I guess one can say we can see a few of the editorials before the magazines hit the stores or folks mailboxes, but there's nothing like flipping through a magazine or reading it on your technological gadget of choice. I literally screamed when I saw Esperanza's spread in the latest issue of my daughters VOGUE. Thanks fab daughter for letting me borrow it and snap these photos with my trusted Blackberry. I'm not tearing up my magazines or anyone else's to scan them.![Radio Music Society](http://www.mmsies.com/store/images/products/preview/02xrms-cd.jpg)
Be sure to purchase her latest musical offering, you'll be glad you did.
