Ajak Deng For Lanvin H&M

Fabulous Ajak!

Last nights Lanvin for H &M fashion show at New York's Pierre Hotel had been the talk of the web ever since we found out about this fabulous collaboration between the two fashion powerhouses. The fabulousness and the drama displayed at last night's show must have been one fabulous night out for those lucky enough to view it in person.

The glamor and beauty from what I've seen was to literally die for because they said Alber Elbaz and his crew put on a phenomenal show. I had to pick my favorite from the bunch and give it to Supermodel Ajak Deng because the woman rocked her entire outfit from head to toe.

The sexy programs known as Sirens, which are played by Beau Garrett, Serinda Swan, Elizabeth Mathis and Yaya DaCosta as they surround Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund). I can't wait to see this one! Yaya has proved to her doubters that not only is she beautiful, she's equally talented.

The Bold and the Beautiful

The Original "Bold and the Beautiful"
Pat Evans, Grace Jones and Judith Jamison. These women made their freshly shaved
heads their trademarks and didn't give a care who liked it or not! As a teen
I couldn't help but admire Super Model Pat Evans when I first saw her on the cover of my brother's
record albums and in the pages of earlier copies of Essence magazine.

It takes a special woman to sport the bald look...heck it takes a special woman just to wear her natural hair period! For years we've been wearing everyone else's hair but our own and it's awe inspiring when I see women who say forget the standards of beauty that are imposed upon them and proclaim that they are going to be themselves.

Confidence, self-definition and how you see yourself as a woman and as an individual and of course a bold personality and a style of your own are the characteristics that these lovely ladies possess who pull off this look. As an admirer of all women, confidence is the number one accessory that no woman should ever leave home without and these women simply exude confidence and rock!

From Brazilian singer Adyel Silva to Artist Dawn Okoro, these women and others
like them are the  personification of what it means to be 'The Bold and the Beautiful!"

Eva Mendes May Have Worn Prada...

...just seven weeks after the show was held in Milan, but Shala Monroque wore another look from the Prada Spring/2011 show right after the show was held, in which I wrote about. NY Magazine ran an article on Eva Mendes stating that she was recently seen in Madrid in support of her new movie wearing this dress from the Prada spring 2011 collection .

Here we have Pop Magazines Editor-at-Large, Shala Monroque wearing a skirt and top from the Prada Spring/2011 probably a few days after the show.

I give credit where credit is due and the so called fashion gods do not dictate to me nor do I believe that they start any trends because it's the "runways" of the streets that start the trends. The men and women without the designer clothes budgets, but with a innate style all their own start and end all fashion trends.

Remember, it's only sheep who follow everyone else and let others define who they are and what they should look like, not leaders. Some folks what us to believe that it's strictly them who can say who has style, who doesn't or who's worthy of being emulated...sorry, but I don't buy into that nonsense.

I'm So Inspired...

...but where do I begin???

I've got so much on my plate that I want to do, need to do and must get done that I don't know which one to tackle first. There's so much that I want to create, but I haven't taken the time to do so because of so many planned and unplanned events in my life.

I  L*O*V*E this peplum waist beauty of a Dress!

Whenever I see beauty, I want to create something of that same beauty regardless of whether if it's a painting, a photo or a garment of my own design. I want to create something that no one else has.

So when I saw the latest Vlisco fabric campaign my mind and my creativity emotions went into overload. I'm almost paralyzed by procrastination because I have tons of other ideas that I have yet to complete before I can start on another one. Sigh...what's a woman to do? I'm still totally inspired. How about you?

Thanks to the uber fabulous UZURI Blog for the inspirational source.

Need To Hear: Natalie (The Floacist) Stewart, "Floetic Soul"

Natalie "The Floacist" Stewart

As I've said it before, I'll say it again...the best of the singers are coming back with much needed new music for our weary ears and Natalie Stewart is one such artist. We all remember when she and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry fame blew us away with their lyrical rhyme-fest set to cool jazzy sounds, well that's the past and she's the future. She now proves that she can also be a stellar solo performer and this CD certainly doesn't disappoint the listener. Joining forces with this beautiful and mesmerizing wordsmith, are Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn, rapper MC Lyte, and singer Lalah Hathaway.

Don't walk, run to your nearest music store or click on to your favorite online store and purchase
Floetic Soul. Read more on Natalie: Here You can listen to the entire CD in it's entirety: Here
Be sure to follow Natalie on Facebook.

Look of the Day: Ajak Deng at the Lanvin Halloween Extravaganza

"Ajak Deng looking gorgeous at Alber Elbaz' Halloween Blowout"

...And to think that I only thought children were the ones who loved Halloween, it seems like the adults love it just as much because it means they get to relieve a portion of their childhood, have a little fun or just participate in a little debauchery.
