What's Haute Now: All That Shines In December That We're Talking About

Happy December!

It seems like I've got to look across the Atlantic for a little style inspiration featuring a little diversity and this time it's Harper's Bazaar Russia that is serving up the glamour in a stunning editorial featuring Cabo Verde born model Raquel Pinto in their DEC 2012 issue photographed by Natalia Alaverdian.

Joan Smalls has snagged another cover and editorial and this time it's the DEC issue of Vogue Türkiye.

Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss grace the cover and appear in an editorial for Interview Russia № 12 DECEMBER 2012, photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, along with Ataui Deng who is also featured in a gorgeous editorial photographed by Elle Muliarchyk.

We've just discovered this beautiful Dominican beauty named Diana Danelys De Los Santos, aka Amara "La Negra" Santos.

Don’t Change A Thing!
This Reggaeton Queen is all over the place and already has an impressive fan base. I hope she doesn't change a thing about her once she becomes a household name because she is beautiful just the way she is.

The super talented and beautiful Esperanza Spalding rocked it a out in one fabulous editorial for Revista S Moda.

Kerry Washington for Uptown Magazine [Dec/Jan 2013]. On leaving the entertainment business: “Sometimes I feel like I can’t do this anymore.” Almost once a year, her hair and makeup folks hear it: “I am done! I’m so done.” On why she’s no saint: “If you look at my body of work, I’ve always taken huge risks. I’ve played prostitutes, drug addicts, pimping lesbians. I do work I’m drawn to.” Read the full article here…

Solange in Boxing Kitten
Solange Knowles' new EP "True" is out, even though I like her song "Losing You" I'm still on the fence about whether I should buy the rest of her EP. For some reason I'm just not feeling it and I love my Euro-Dance tunes. Her album comes off as if she's all over the place and still hasn't found her grove.

On another note, I actually broke down and contributed to increasing Rihanna's bottom line by purchasing her latest music offering. Silly me brought the unclean version, so I know I can't blast that with the kiddies in the car.
Unapologetic

Tory Burch just discovered the beautiful Shea Rose (at least she featured her) and you should too! Folks are sleeping on these talented singers who are obscured by *clears throat* the obvious...above. I plan on writing a lengthy blog post on these musicians who are out there but aren't receiving the recognition and promotion they should because the media is simply stuck on who's popular. Blogger's, you do wield a certain amount of influence and collectively we can galvanize enough support for these artists who want to get their music out there to the masses.

So far December looks to be another promising month and I'm sure it will be one for many of you.

While Visions of LANVIN SS 2011 Prêt-à-Porter Still Dance In My Head...

...My baby is leaving to attend a college in San Francisco and she received a welcome book all about her school. She's a creative type just like her Mom and the rest of her sisters and she wants to become a visual stylist and work in retail in NYC. Dad's not too happy because he wants her to be in NYC, but I taught our children to soar and soar she can to experience the world. While reviewing her book I came across this beautiful photo below of Ataui Deng, Jourdan Dunn, Janeil Williams and Ajak Deng shot by an alumnus of the school that my daughter will be attending by the name of Tomas Delucia. It's just as beautiful as as the ones in color from the LANVIN 2011 SS RTW.

It's titled, 'Lanvin Backstage Beauties' and I searched throughout the web for it and no such luck and that's how I created my latest screen saver using different photos from the show of one of the best encores ever.

THREE LOOKS AND THE REAL STARS OF THE HOUSE OF DIOR 2011/12 Fall/Winter RTW

Christian Dior Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
'THE REAL STARS OF 'La Maison de DIOR'

The "real stars" of the catwalk 'les petites mains' who work behind the scenes in the House of Dior's atelier, a trade that's quietly disappearing from many of the worlds reknown fashion houses. The livelihood of these men and women who create these beautiful works of art is at stake because of the circumstances that have come about because of this whole incident.

We all can learn a thing or two from this incident and that is, it doesn't matter how high you think you are and how much you think people revere you, we can all fall from grace. And I'm sure John Galliano and other's will think twice before they speak.  So, I say to 'les petites mains.' "Take a bow! Bravo! Bravo!

See the rest of the collection here.

Elie Tahari held nothing back in creating this collection and there's only one word to describe it. Scrumptious! Every woman can find some form of inspiration from this collection to make a stylish entrance into the Fall season. He's got staples for every woman to build her wardrobe around and every piece of this collection that I've seen so far makes a statement.
