The Best of The September Issues: /Actress Yaya (DaCosta) Alafia for InStyle Magazine September 2013

Some things are worth the wait and it seems that digital magazines are beginning to get a lot like the mail when it comes to delivering them, but this fabulous editorial featuring Yaya (DaCosta) Alafia in the September issue of InStyle Magazine certainly makes up for it. I've seen several September issues and many have not lived up to the hype of their previous September issues. I have to give InStyle an A+ for theirs because everything looks better than their competitor's, to include content and editorials.

Le Look Du Jour: Yaya DaCosta

Why try to fit in when  you can stand out in your own unique beauty and an eye-catching color!

Another one of my favorites when it comes to personal style is Yaya DaCosta. To me Yaya is the epitome of a woman who exudes confidence and an innate beauty that compliments any thing that she wears. Long before the so called turban trend became le style she was already wearing them. It doesn't matter whether she's rocking her massive Afro, a pouf of coils and ringlets or even her colorful head wraps, Yaya DaCosta simply rocks!

New Music Raphael Saadiq - Good Man

I'm been really digging Raphael Saadiq's '60s vibe in his music lately. This video for Good Man is deep!

The Look of The Day: Yaya Dacosta and Elizabeth Mathis at the Tron Legacy Premier

The high tech adventure TRON  Legacy will land in theaters on Friday, but Disney decided to win new fans for the film (which became a cult in 1980 and now earns a continuation and remodeled with 3D technology) releasing all sorts of products with its futuristic look. In partnership with the stores
Opening Ceremony , they created a collection of coats, jackets, shirts, pants, leggings, dresses laser cut neoprene boots and bags that cost between 230-575 dollars. They come in colors from neon orange, yellow, blue and black pieces. The line is also for sale at Lane Crawford in China and Colette Paris.

Yaya DaCosta For The Gap

Yaya DaCosta in an advertisement for The Gap

While surfing the web I came across this advertisement of Yaya and quickly clicked on the ad to see what The Gap had in store. OK, it was the usual, but what disturbed me even more was that there was not one model of color featured in that online catalog. Sorry, but I don't shop where I'm rendered invisible and neither should any of you. Advertising and money dictate fashion, but we spend a helluva amount of money on clothing too. Isn't it time we see the truth and speak it with our dollars? Exactly who are The Gaps customers? Retailers need to rethink how they do business in this country in order to stay afloat.

TRON: Legacy Exclusive Clip - Sirens Dress Sam

Trailer Park Movies

Myspace Video

The sexy programs known as Sirens, which are played by Beau Garrett, Serinda Swan, Elizabeth Mathis and Yaya DaCosta as they surround Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund). I can't wait to see this one! Yaya has proved to her doubters that not only is she beautiful, she's equally talented.

TRON: Legacy hits theaters on December 17th, 2010.
