As 2013 comes to an end we will have the opportunity to see the last of what some may deem as being iconic magazine covers. Some have been great covers featuring a plethora of beauty this year, while others have been repeat covers featuring the same old celebrities and models. Either way, the First Lady's December cover is glamorous and perfect for the holiday season. First Lady Michelle Obama sat down with Ladies Home Journal E-I-C, Sally Lee for an interview in September 2013 for this issue to discuss the Obama's Christmas traditions. My favorite models and always the coils-du-jour any day of the week walked the runway for Brazilian designer Tarcisio Brandão during the Casa de Criadores (House of Creaters) - Inverno 2014 in São Paulo.




The Casa de Criadores was created in May 1997 when a group of young designers decided, in partnership with journalist Andrew Hidalgo, to promote an event to launch their new collections.The goal of the Casa de Criadores is to showcase independent designers who normally don't show during Brazil's major fashion weeks, but this platform gives them the recognition they need to be shown to a broader audience.

InStyle Magazine October 2013: Actress Danai Gurira

Right now, InStyle magazine has me smiling again with another beautiful editorial featuring one of my favorites and this time it's actress Danai Gurira. "The Walking Dead" star has been on a role lately and getting the recognition that she deserves.  I've got to give it to them because lately they have been consistent with editorials featuring celebrities of African descent in their magazine. Not that I need to be validated by them, but it's great to see these women beautifully represented and not ignored as if they don't exist.

Danai was photographed for this editorial by Jan Welters and styled by Joanne Blades in sculptural and modern contemporary pieces.

The September issues are now loading up on my computer and I quickly glance over them until something or someone attracts my attention and this lovely editorial shot by Martien Mulder certainly caught mine.

In this editorial South Sudanese born beauty, Atong Arjok livens up the pages of the September issue of Lucky Magazine in a fabulous fashion spread full of color and graphic prints.

We created the art of wearing colorful graphic prints.

Actress Kerry "Miss Olivia Pope" Washington has scored another major magazine cover and congratulations are in order for her lovely Vanity Fair August cover.

I think one of the best things that I've done recently to save money was to subscribe to digital magazines and NEXT issue has to be the best so far because I get to choose some of my favorites.
