Grande Dame:Jeneil Williams for Elle Magazine September 2012 by Horst Diekgerdes

I stated in an earlier post about Elle Magazine's fabulous September issue which featured Solange at her lovely Brooklyn brownstone and Jeneil Williams in a spectacular fashion editorial. Here are more photos from her editorial featuring looks from Prada to Oscar de la Renta, and is photographed by Horst Diekgerdes.

I tried to wait to see if someone would post the editorial but models.com only posted three, so I took photos of the editorial from my own magazine. They're not the best, but you can see what you need to. I don't do digital issues (I tried) and nor do I tear up my magazines to scan them.

Stylist Lester Garcia's impeccable attention to detail created ensembles with just the right amount of accessories that didn't overpower anything that Jeneil wore. Jeneil's beautiful, richly hued skin created the perfect canvas for makeup artist Maki Riyoke to create jewel toned wisps of color on her flawless skin.

I love this one her in this trapeze dress from Oscar de la Renta F/W 2012.

Costume Institute Gala:The Met Ball

Tomorrow is the Costume Institute's famous Met Ball and I'm sure we all want to see what some of our favorite moguls, celebrities and models will be wearing to this prestigious event. The Work of legendary designer Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada will be celebrated this time at the Met, so expect to see plenty of vintage Schiaparelli gowns or Prada and Miu Miu cocktail dresses.

The Cut Blog has added a list (see at end of post)  of the designers and their dates and if it is like anything like last year some people just might get cut out of photos and ignored. I'd love to see what Beyoncé and Solange Knowles will be wearing this year since they both attended last year.

I vividly remember when top model Jourdan Dunn was famed photographer Mario Testino's date last year and they absolutely cropped her out of photos and didn't highlight her at all.

Here's another shot of her in the background in her gorgeous Burberry gown. Hopefully it won't happen again, but we all know that it will since everything is based on rank and file or popularity in the media.


Desiree Rogers was also there with her ex-husband John W. Rogers and since she had resigned from the White House there was not one mention of her even attending the event. Anyway, I'm sure Jourdan will be photographed this year possibly dangling on the arm of Jason Wu or some other designer and if it is Jason Wu she can wear one of the gowns that I've highlighted below from his SS 2012 RTW collection.

Photographer Kai Z. Feng captured Joan wearing the latest designs from PRADA to Proenza Schouler in this gorgeous editorial. I'm definitely loving the lip color. For more of this fabulous editorial we'll have to get our hands on a copy of VOGUE Australia when it hits the newsstands.

What a way to start the day and see Solange in all her ferosh-ness on my Tumblr page for Time Out New York in the perfect colors and fashion inspiration for Spring. Solange had been on a roll way before she was signed to NEXT Modeling agency because she is a favorite of women in the Natural Hair community before the mainstream fashion industry noticed her, either way, she simply rocks. The Streets Are Talking!!!

Every fashion week our eyes are focused on the web or if you're one of those who've scored an invite to the fashion shows you get to see style first hand. Street style is what really fascinates me and it's not for me to swoon over what the celebrities are wearing because some of them just don't excite me in their choice of style unless they're an individualist like Solange Knowles or a celebrity who is O40&Fab.
