It Girl: Actress Lupita Nyong'o Is On A Roll!

I haven't received my February issue of ESSENCE Magazine through my digital issues yet, so that can only mean that they've got one of their 'repeat cover' subjects on the cover, or they have a surprise cover featuring one of our favorites. Anyway, Lupita Nyong'o shares the February issue of W Magazine with Oprah and four other celebrities for their movie issue and while I was reading my digital issue of Vanity Fair this morning, she was inside their February issue wearing a stunning Givenchy gown. Talk about "girl on fire!"

What's Haute Now!!

The Latest and the Greatest according to moi!

Some of the American fashion Gods must be listening to their readers because Joan Smalls has landed on the cover of the July issue of W Magazine.
Pinned Image
Joan's beauty was captured by the legendary Steven Meisel for her gorgeous cover and editorial. This is not her first cover because Joan has had several international covers and since most international fashion magazines are also obsessed with celebrities, they do have the courage to use models on their magazine covers unlike their American counterparts. Congrats to Joan on a beautiful cover and thank you, Stefano Tonchi for having the courage to feature a model on the cover.

Saturdays were made for relaxing and catching up on reading and just having a me day because I adamantly refused to go on a road trip this weekend. Sorry kiddies, but Mommy has to save money for our annual vacation. Lol!!

I bought the latest issue of Hunger magazine and while flipping through the pages I came across this beautiful editorial featuring singer Liane La Havas which stopped me at mid flip. Rankin captured her style and beauty in some of the most beautiful clothes in the prettiest colors ever!  Hunger Magazine is another one of those bi-annual magazines that have now cropped up on the markets and it's heavy because it's filled with beautiful editorials from some of the worlds best unknown up and coming artist from all genres. Liane La Havas is going to have meteoric success here in the states with her music. Mark my words.

What's Haute Now: Adepero Oduye for W Magazine

I saw this photo of Adepero Oduye today while flipping through the latest issue of W Magazine. For a quick minute I thought is was Kelly Rowland until I read on. Oddly enough her photo isn’t on their website for breakout performances.

The image of one of the years best breakout performers, Adepero Oduye for W Magazine. When I saw this photo in the magazine I thought it was Kelly Rowland for a moment until I read on. Proud of her and the other women of the movie Pariah.

Man of Style: Architect David Adjaye

David Adjaye: A House for an Art Collector

Stefano Tonchi Celebrates the W May Design Issue and the Book Launch of David Adjaye's A House for an Art Collector. David Adjaye is an award winning architect of the eponymous, innovative architectural and design firm whose work spans across a diverse and global platform.

Proudly boasting a multicultural and multinational team, Adjaye Associates is stimulated and nurtured by the broadest possible perspective and curiosity, resulting in a rupturing nucleus of creativity and building a legacy to be reckoned with.

Adjaye was born in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam and travelled the world with his diplomatic father until the family settled in London. He earned his BA at London South Bank University, before graduating with an MA in 1993 from the Royal College of Art. I will definitely be adding this book to my bookshelf.
