I always knew I wanted to be in fashion. I got my degree in Fashion Merchandising from University of Tennessee and became a buyer for Charming Shops in Memphis. From there I moved to New York City to work for one of our vendors and pursued a second bachelors from F.I.T. I always loved fashion events and fashion shows, so I started out just wanting to do a fashion show in Harlem. ~ Brandice Henderson, Founder Harlem's Fashion Row

FACTS: The HFR showcase was created to bring awareness and visibility to an existing community of talented minority designers, who otherwise may not have the opportunity to showcase their collections during Fashion Week. They introduce the designers to an audience of top editors, buyers and industry influencer's. Also, as a part of it’s greater mission to develop lasting partnerships and mentor-ships with editors, buyers and showrooms, this year’s HFR event is designed to prioritize bottom line sales and will include an on-site center for post show market appointments for interested buyers and attendees.
  • We spend over 22 Billion in dollars on apparel, but Latino and designers of African descent are a small amount represented in the stores.
